This month our discussions have focused around two issues: benefits and summer school. We have signed a Side Letter of Agreement allowing for flexibility in summer school scheduling this year. The day will be lengthened and the week shortened resulting in the same number of hours (90 for elementary, and 135 for secondary) and a four day work week. Summer school hours will be from 7:50 to 1:20 (approximately) and will be fine tuned to meet accreditation requirements, Monday through Thursday for $34.80 per hour.
We have requested bids from a number of providers on equivalent benefit packages. The next step is to analyze the responses from the providers, which should start coming in this month.
