BTA presented a proposal to the District to restore the 4 staff development/instructional days. There was also discussion of switching the instructional day of November 12, 2010 to a staff development day and the staff development day of January 31, 2011 to an instructional day.
- BTA also proposed a temporary one year, $1000.00 increase to the medical benefits cap. This would change the cap from $9,769.00 to $10,769.00.
- The district confirmed that they have received $2,579,549 from the Federal Education Jobs Bill. The total amount of the final allocation will be $2,866,165.
- BTA stands strong in demanding that the district allocate the funds of the Federal Jobs Bill in accordance with the intent and letter of the law. The District has said that they will bring a proposal to the next bargaining session on October 19, 2010.
