News from the Table 11/3/2010
————————————————————————————————————————-
Today’s intended agenda was temporarily suspended to resolve the District’s misapplication of the Memorandum of Understanding concerning the District-wide professional development day of November 12, 2010. As a result, BTA’s original intent of making this a voluntary workday and utilizing it for specific site-based teacher directed work was reaffirmed. Unit members will be responsible for planning their workday with approval by their supervisor. As in the original agreement, only those teachers who are present and sign in and out will be compensated.
The rest of the day consisted of discussion of the articles that each bargaining team plans to open over the following meetings. BTA is opening articles 4, 5, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 20, and 21. The District plans to open articles 7, 8, 9, and 11.
The District did not present BTA with a counteroffer to our proposal to raise the medical benefits cap by $2,000.
We are scheduled to meet again on Nov. 16, 2010.
